Mr Joseph Noel Sykes
Joseph Sykes, on a day between the 1st June 2002 and the 9th July 2002 engaged in conduct which was discreditable to him as a barrister in that he, in collaboration with Nigel Adams, caused or permitted a letter to be written to the Employment Tribunal hearing the case of Russell Burrows on the headed paper of Nigel Adams & Co., Solicitors, agreeing to an adjournment of the hearing and which was without authority or instructions of the said Russell Burrows.
Joseph Sykes, on a day between the 4th July 2002 and the 9th July 2002 engaged in conduct which was discreditable to him as a barrister in that he acted in violation of paragraphs 610(d) and 701(e)(ii) of the Code of Conduct of the Bar of England and Wales by withdrawing from the case he had accepted to represent Russell Burrows in circumstances which prevented Russell Burrows from finding other legal assistance and thereby caused Russell Burrows to suffer prejudice.
